Everton boast some truly famous fans, but few have enjoyed as rapid a rise to prominence as Tommy Fleetwood.
The professional golfer, born in Southport, has seen his allegiances to the Toffees well-documented during his ascension to the top of his sport, where he is now ranked as the 11th-best in the world.
It is always a pleasure to see someone of such fame be so public in their love for Everton, and his career arguably reached a new height this summer when competing on behalf of Great Britain in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Naturally, the USA took home the gold, but it was Fleetwood who finished just one shot behind the eventual winner Scottie Scheffler.
Settling for silver, a truly respectable return, he has now been lauded by Everton for his efforts.
Tommy Fleetwood reacts after winning Olympic silver medal
Taking to X late last week, the Toffees would outline their praise for the golfer with a simple message. It read: Tommy Fleetwood. Olympic silver medalist! Proud of you, @TommyFleetwood1′.
Having taken his time to respond, likely too busy revelling in his remarkable achievement, only yesterday night did Fleetwood pen his reply: ‘Thank you,’ with a blue heart attached.
Fleetwood has spoken in length about his love for the football club, and he was questioned after Sean Dyche guided them to narrow Premier League safety during the 2022/23 campaign.
The 33-year-old noted: ‘I think Sean has done a fantastic job. I think he did really, really well. I like the culture he created and the way that they played on the pitch for the remaining part of the year.’
Later quizzed on the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium, Fleetwood then claimed: ‘I still love watching them, and they definitely give you plenty to think about when you’re watching.

‘It’ll be kind of sad for it to be the last season at Goodison, but also it’s good to look to the future.
‘It is an amazing stadium that we’re building, so hopefully we can build on that.’
Which other famous people support Everton?
Fleetwood is not alone in his famous love for Everton, with many more celebrities self-confessed Evertonians.
Sylvester Stallone is arguably the most notorious supporter, having visited Goodison Park back in 2007 before returning for the first Creed film.
Another major Hollywood actor who supposedly follows the Toffees is Matt Damon, who met up with the squad back in 2013 during their pre-season tour of the US.

Dame Judi Dench is another famous fan who is also an Honorary Patron of Everton in the Community, whilst Justin Bieber has been pictured playing football in an Everton shirt in the past too.
Fleetwood is not alone in his famous fascination with the Blues.
