Everton were unlucky to lose to Manchester United on the weekend, as their finishing frailties once again reared their ugly head.
It was a typically profligate afternoon from the Toffees, who must be sick to death of creating such a steady stream of top-quality chances without mustering up that killer instinct.
In the end, it was two moments of madness that decided the match, as Alejandro Garnacho’s quick feet and ability to draw a foul commanded two penalties.
Now, one pundit has lauded him whilst sympathising with Evertonians.
What talkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino said about Everton
Speaking to talkSPORT after the match, Tony Cascarino was effusive in his praise for one man, who he felt changed the game against Everton.
The pundit would note: ’I’ve got to make a point about Garnacho. Everton fans must be sick of Garnacho because back in November he got the wonder goal, the overhead scissor kick didn’t he? And then, by his dribbling ability, running at the Everton back four, winning two penalties for his team.

‘One thing he’s got, and I really like Garnacho for this, because he’s always prepared to run at players.’
He would then move on to his analysis of the Toffees: ’Everton, they’re a strange team, they seem to have attempts on goal from everywhere on the pitch, but never close enough in the 18-yard box. I thought McNeil was good yesterday for Everton, thought he played really really well. Tough day at the office for them and United almost tormented them in the way they played.’
Alejandro Garnacho is everything Everton are lacking
Although the manner in which he bought the first penalty was infuriating to watch, sprawling to the ground after a loose tackle from James Tarkowski, the Argentine offered a glimpse into everything Everton are missing.
Not only did he use his pace, directness and dribbling prowess to dazzle their backline, but also he then boasted the nastiness and ‘intelligence’ to buy a foul in the box, although it was foolish from the defender in question.

As a winger, Sean Dyche must be crying out for someone like the 19-year-old, who has now won both fixtures against the Toffees almost single-handedly.
To compare him with the likes of Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison, and again the issues are there for all to see.
Whilst they might seem like quintessential Dyche wide man, their deliveries have been sorely lacking this season.
And although their work rate remains unwavering, Garnacho boasts that same effort level but with a blistering speed that Goodison Park has not seen for so long.
