Everton have endured a really poor season thus far, made so much more difficult by their ongoing injury crisis.
Last campaign, they were desperately unfortunate, and this term has been much of the same. Frustratingly, their misfortune has come from the very start.
Whether it be their back four stripped of all quality, or being forced into playing a threadbare midfield. Everton manager Sean Dyche has not had it easy.
However, he continues to battle through in the face of such adversity, despite being forced to reveal two new injuries just today.
Sean Dyche issues Everton injury update vs Ipswich Town
Speaking to the press ahead of his side’s trip to Ipswich Town, Dyche announced his team had two new injuries, stating: ‘Jimmy and Tim are the ones I’ve missed out actually.
‘Tim unfortunately has got a stress response to a bone in his foot, so he’s going to be weeks not days. We’re disappointed, he’s had a good start to the season. Good pre-season. He’ll come back through it but we’re not sure on the time scales.
‘Jimmy’s similar. Jimmy’s got a back situation we’re just monitoring at the moment. It’s settling down but we’re not going to have anything too concrete until probably about the next week or so when we’ll know more. See how he responds to the treatment.’
‘And he has come back to life so to speak. He’s had an interrupted time in pre-season and the beginning of the season, and I thought he’s done very well since he’s been back in amongst it.’
Everton’s injury-hit season continues
After these latest new injuries, it’s hard to find an Everton player who has not suffered from at least one injury this campaign.
After all, the backline has been suitably ravaged, with Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson and Jarrad Branthwaite all causing huge vacancies in key positions.
Then, moving into midfield, and James Garner latest issue only adds to his setbacks suffered this season, with Tim Iroegbunam‘s a new but equally frustrating one.

Idrissa Gana Gueye has avoided injury, but was dealt with the sad loss of his father, whilst Orel Mangala actually joined Everton injured.
Then, moving up the pitch, and Armando Broja is another who joined injured, whilst Youssef Chermiti was struck down right on the eve of the Premier League season.
