Burnley could be without Lyle Foster for their trip to Everton today.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference (as per Burnley Express), Vincent Kompany admitted he was hopeful that the striker would be available for the Carabao Cup match.
Sean Dyche, Dwight McNeil and James Tarkowski will reunite with their former club this evening, as the Clarets travel to Goodison Park in the fourth round of the Cup.
Burnley have really struggled this season and will need their strongest players available if they are to claim a victory over the in-form Toffees.
However, Kompany isn’t sure whether top goalscorer Lyle Foster will be fit to play.
The striker missed out on Burnley’s defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend due to illness, while Kompany was unable to guarantee that he would be back in action tonight.
“I hope so, but we’ll see,” he said.

“The priority is not to take any risk, that he gets anything because of the illness.
“But I’m fairly confident it’s not going to be too bad.”
Can Everton reach the quarter-finals?
Burnley have only managed to score eight goals in the Premier League this season, three of which came through Lyle Foster, and other two assisted by the South African.
Everton will be confident they can progress to the quarter-finals on home soil anyway, but the absence of Foster could definitely be a further blow to the visitors.
Sean Dyche‘s side have looked much better in recent weeks and a place in the Carabao Cup quarters could be exactly what they need to keep the positivity around the club. However, they don’t want to become distracted and let their performances in the top flight falter.
