What Enzo Maresca has just done in Chelsea’s Conference League Final should give Everton major transfer boost

Chelsea faced Real Betis in the Conference League final this evening.

David Moyes certainly would’ve watched, with the Scotsman previously admitting he’s a big believer in watching live football to help recruit players.

Moyes has been attending Championship games over the last couple of months, with Maxime Esteve one known to be on Everton’s radar.

The Toffees boss has also been eyeing Chris Rigg, though, that deal now looks unlikely after Sunderland’s promotion.

And, Moyes is known to be an admirer of Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, having tried to sign him in the January transfer window.

With that said, what Enzo Maresca did in tonight’s Conference League final would’ve given Everton great hope of landing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s signature.

Enzo Maresca drops Everton target Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea XI’s vs Real Betis

Dewsbury-Hall had been a regular in Chelsea’s Conference League campaign leading up to the final in Wroclaw, Poland.

In fact, the former Leicester City playmaker had started 11 of their 12 games, netting four goals whilst laying on two assists.

But, Maresca made a big call to drop him to the bench against Betis, which surely puts his future at Cobham in doubt.

Dewsbury-Hall’s only consistent minutes this term have come in Europe, so to be axed in the final will really hurt.

For Everton, it may create a window of opportunity, with Moyes already lining up a bid for Dewsbury-Hall this summer.

The Toffees may now look a lot more attractive for the out-of-favour Chelsea star.

Everton face competition for Dewsbury-Hall

Everton might not be the only Premier League club expected to reignite their interest in Dewsbury-Hall this summer.

West Ham United looked into a deal to sign the 26-year-old during the winter window, but Maresca decided to keep him as part of his squad.

The Hammers may provide Moyes and his chiefs with competition, whilst Brighton and Hove Albion have also held an interest in the past.

The attraction of the new Hill Dickinson Stadium, paired with the Friedkin’s lofty ambitions, could be enough to convince Dewsbury-Hall to make the switch to Merseyside.

Some Everton fans reckon Dewsbury-Hall would be their best player.
