What Everton boss David Moyes has been urging Jack Grealish to improve on top of shooting advice

Everton loanee Jack Grealish has arguably been the signing of the season across the entire Premier League.

Jack Grealish has found his top form at Everton after a really challenging period with Manchester City, which saw him lose his England spot.

Tim Sherwood now reckons it’s inevitable that Grealish will be recalled, and many were surprised it didn’t come this month.

Either way, it’s refreshing to see Grealish loving his football again, and David Moyes has been partly responsible for his upturn in form.

Although, Moyes is still demanding the 30-year-old to improve in one very specific area of his game.

What David Moyes wants Jack Grealish to improve

Grealish’s Dad has been encouraging him to shoot more, and Moyes also agrees that’s an area of his game that needs work.

“Jack did great again,” Moyes said after the Crystal Palace win. “He had a couple of shots on target which were pretty comfortable for the goalkeeper to save but I have been pushing him. I want him to get goals as well as assists.”

The Daily Mail are also reporting that Moyes has been telling Grealish to make more backpost runs, which was evident for the last-minute winner on Sunday.

The Scotsman has given the 39-cap England international licence to take ‘risks’, which he allowed Lucas Paqueta to do at West Ham United.

Jack Grealish has been playing through injury

Grealish’s hunger to get back to his previous heights is there for all to see and he’s even been playing through injury of late.

After the Palace win, it came out that he’d missed a few training sessions to be ready for matchdays, despite being in pain.

So, with that said, the international break has actually come at a good time for Everton, as Grealish can recover and get back to full fitness over this next few weeks.

The Toffees star won’t actually be available for the first game back, as he can’t play against his parent club Manchester City.

So his next game will come on the final weekend of October against Tottenham Hotspur at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
