What Everton bosses are ‘feeling’ about signing Jack Grealish permanently from Man City

The Everton hierarchy have made their ‘feeling’ clear on a permanent Jack Grealish transfer as talks with Man City are expected.

It’s hard not to fall in love with a loan player when the winger has had the start he’s had.

Four assists in three games earned Grealish the Premier League player of the month, and it was wholly deserved after a rejuvenation under David Moyes.

Grealish was shocked he won the award at Everton, as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall presented him with the honour.

It’s been the perfect match so far for the Toffees, and there are already conversations about the possibility of a permanent deal.

Everton bosses ‘open’ to Jack Grealish transfer as price tag could drop ‘considerably’

With the Blues thrilled with the 30-year-old’s start, it’s not a surprise that talks are already being discussed.

BBC Sport reporter Giulia Bould has received some promising signs regarding the progress of a permanent deal.

“The feeling is clearly mutual. Everton would be open to signing him permanently when his loan ends and believe his price tag could drop considerably,” Bould said.

“Manchester City have a rough value of £50 million, but this is unlikely to be the real cost come next summer.

“By then, the midfielder would be almost 31 and have just a year left on his deal.

“The feeling around Blues bosses is they can negotiate a low figure and hang on to their newest hero if he continues to impress.”

After the winger has looked right at home on Merseyside, Grealish is one of the Premier League’s ‘best’, and it can be seen how a permanent deal seems like a no-brainer right now.

Of course, consistency has to be maintained, but it’s hard to argue against not going all in on something right now.

Everton could justify paying £50 million for Jack Grealish but they should aim cheaper

Although it’s been just one month at Everton, Grealish looks like the perfect fit for the Blues.

His impact has been long-lasting already, and he deserves the August accolade after an excellent turnaround.

This could also put a case that Grealish’s possible £50 million buy-clause is activated, as he’s certainly playing worth that value at the moment, and there is a reason he was worth £100 million at one stage.

It’s not been confirmed that this is the exact figure, but if this was City’s demand and it came to paying the fee currently, Evertonians wouldn’t say no.

However, considering his age and the contract at City, which expires in June 2027, the hierarchy should look to aim much lower.
