Chelsea’s ‘punishment’ by the Premier League was always going to prompt a reaction from Everton fans, but are now said to be planning a ‘major protest’.
The west London giants were hit with a fine of just over £10 million this week, and also given a transfer ban – suspended for two years – and an immediate nine-month academy transfer ban.
Moyes’ current deal expires next year… 🤔
The punishment came after Chelsea made undisclosed payments to agents, non-licensed intermediaries and other figures, including players, around signings between 2011 and 2018 (via the Guardian).
Everton fans have been particularly angry about the fact there has been no points deduction for Chelsea, and are now planning to make their voices heard.

Everton fans plan ‘major protest’ at Chelsea game
As reported by the Daily Mail, executives from several clubs are said to have ‘demanded an explanation’ from Premier League bosses as to why Chelsea have not been given a points deduction.
Senior figures are said to have contacted chief executive Richard Masters and chair Alison Brittain to ask why the Blues have seemingly got off lightly.
It’s unclear whether Everton officials have made contact.
But there is mention of Everton, with furious fans planning a ‘major protest’ for this weekend’s game which just so happens to be against Chelsea at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Said protests, it’s claimed, will likely take place before, during and after the match, which is being televised.
Everton, of course, were deducted 10 points in the 2023/24 season, which was then reduced to six, for breaches of spending rules.
It could well be an uncomfortable weekend for the Premier League in terms of optics.
The likes of Nottingham Forest and Leicester City have also been handed points deductions in recent times, and it remains to be seen if they will also show their disapproval this weekend.
