Everton fans are clamouring for new signings, but one target looks like he could be slipping through David Moyes’ grasp.
Everton have only signed Carlos Alcaraz permanently so far.
Fans are starting to get a tad restless, with pre-season now only a few weeks away.
A host of players have already left the club, the latest being Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who announced his exit from Everton today on Instagram.
The Friedkin Group always had so much to do this summer in their first major transfer window.
But fans would now like to see some incoming activity.
That said, one Everton target, James McAtee looks very much likely he’ll be heading elsewhere, with an update arriving this afternoon.
James McAtee set for Bundesliga move as five clubs eye Everton target

McAtee is a player Everton have had an eye on going into the summer.
The youngster struggled to start games regularly in 2024/25 for City, and it seems all but certain that he’ll be leaving.
McAtee sent a big message to Moyes with his stunning performance for the England U21s in the Euro final against Germany on Sunday night.
But plenty of other clubs are alert to his brilliance right now.
The Guardian have reported that McAtee is the subject of several Bundesliga clubs right now, including Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig, Stuttgart, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.
The price for McAtee is £25 million, and City are said to be looking to insert a buy-back clause into any deal.
The level of interest from Germany is no real surprise, and these clubs likely will have seen that performance from McAtee in the Euro final.
McAtee to Everton looks a world away
At this stage, Everton appear extremely unlikely to sign McAtee.
There have not really been any new suggestions about David Moyes swooping for the City ace, which is a shame because he could make for a brilliant addition.
We will see soon if Everton decide to get involved, but Germany does now look to be his next destination.
Hopefully, Moyes and TFG will soon get someone in for the wide positions.
McAtee – who’s been branded ‘quality’ by Pep Guardiola previously (via mancity.com) – can operate out wide, but perhaps the Toffees ought to be in for a more natural wide man.
