Everton experienced highs and lows throughout 2025 but ended the calendar year with a strong 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

James Garner was the star of the show as Everton beat Nottingham Forest, and the three points lifted the Toffees up to eighth in the Premier League table.

David Moyes is targeting European football this season and Everton are now just two points off fifth-placed Chelsea.

But January will also mark one full year of Moyes’ second spell as manager. He returned to Everton on January 11, replacing Sean Dyche.

Premier League table for the whole of 2025

Everton finished the 2024/25 season on a high, winning their final three games of the campaign to finish 13th in the table.

This season, Moyes has Everton on the brink of challenging for European football, so overall it has been a successful calendar year for the Toffees.

Where will Everton finish this season?

As per Transfermarkt, Everton would sit 9th in the table if all games in 2025 were tallied together.

The Toffees earned 59 points from 39 Premier League matches in 2025, placing them above Manchester United in 12th and Tottenham in 15th.

What Everton can achieve in 2026

European football should not be ruled out by Everton supporters this year. Even with injuries and AFCON absences, Moyes has kept the Toffees within touching distance.

That will be the top priority for Everton in 2026 alongside potentially challenging for a domestic trophy.
