Rocco Lambert has been given his first professional deal by Everton.
With the World Cup now about to finish, it is time for many to start focusing on club football again.
Let us know your immediate thoughts! 🤩
Everton have been relatively busy over the summer so far, completing a deal for Hayden Hackney, whilst also turning the loan moves of Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl permanent.
But it seems the club have also been busy on the academy front.
Who is Rocco Lambert and how does he play?
Everton have announced today via their Academy account on X that Rocco Lambert has signed his first professional contract with the club.
Lambert is a 17-year-old who plays at right-back, and joined the club at U14s level.
He is originally from Oldham, and began the 2024/25 season as a first-year scholar with the U18s and says driving with the ball is his best attribute.
In his debut campaign, he recorded three assists from the full-back role, as well as scoring once in 22 league games.
Having developed well, the plan is now for Lambert to step up to the U21s this coming season.
On his style of play, Lambert says (via Everton official): “I’m a right-back who likes to get up and down, and I like to get assists. I enjoy putting a lot of crosses in the box, get up, overlap, underlap and try to find someone in the box to get an assist.”
Everton, of course, are crying out for a new right-back in the first-team at the moment. It is likely far too soon for him to make that step up, but he’ll certainly work hard to try and get there in the future.
What Lambert said after signing first Everton contract

Speaking after signing his first pro deal, Lambert said (as per the Liverpool Echo): It’s a moment I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid. For me and everyone around me – my family, friends – we’re all buzzing.
“They’re proud of me and I’m proud of myself. I’ve had ups and downs, I’ve had injuries as well, but (I’m) just trying to overcome that. I’ve enjoyed my time at Everton a lot.”
