Everton have been left impressed by Sorba Thomas.

The Daily Mail believe Everton scouts have returned to the Hill Dickinson Stadium with positive reports on the Wales international after a few trips to Stoke City – meaning it is now over to David Moyes and The Friedkin Group to decide whether they want to pursue the transfer further.

Moyes already has one outstanding talent who previously tore up the Championship in Iliman Ndiaye – a man who registered an outstanding 14 goals and 11 assists in the 2022/23 campaign for Sheffield United.

Now, Everton could land another.

Thomas – who Craig Bellamy admires – is having a superb campaign on the left of midfield for the Potters with ten goals and 11 assists in 38 Championship appearances.

Not only that, but the man born in Barking is able to play on the right of attack, as well as right-back.

This stunning end product and versatility to boot is sure to have impressed Moyes.

However, it has not always been plain sailing for Thomas, who was actually released by West Ham back in 2015 at the age of 16.

The rejection hit him hard, even causing the forward to chuck his boots in the bin.

Thomas – who Stoke City signed from Huddersfield for £1.5m in June 2025 – told the Daily Mail in May 2022: “That was the first time I’d been told I wasn’t good enough and it hit me very deep. I threw my boots in the bin, but a year later my friends and family got me back playing and I went straight to Sports Direct to get a new pair.”
