Why it is so important to Everton that their 2026/27 home kit has not been leaked

Everton have confirmed the home kit for the 2026/27 campaign will be revealed on Thursday, 2 July.

The news comes amid Everton announcing their deal with CMC Markets to become their new front-of-shirt sponsor.

Although Stake will no longer hold pride of place on the front of the shirt, the new gambling laws have provided a loophole for Everton to retain the firm as a sleeve sponsor.

It finally feels like the 2026/27 campaign is now fully underway as the Toffees prepare to unveil their new home kit for the very first time.

Credit where credit is due, as entering July, there have still been no leaks of the official Castore kit on Merseyside.

Everton avoid kit leaks in rare feat in current Premier League climate

In this day and age, there are already leaks on some of the kits ahead of the 2027/28 campaign.

Despite the demand for kits to be leaked ahead of their release date, Everton and Castore have been able to keep a tight lid on this season’s designs.

Everton confirmed via their statement on CMC Markets that the home kit will be launched on Thursday morning.

“Evertonians will get their first look at CMC Markets on the front of the Club’s new 2026/27 home kit when it is unveiled tomorrow, Thursday 2 July, from 9am,” the statement read.

Castore and Everton are locked in to a multi-year deal, which got underway back in 2024.

There is an understanding the agreement is worth in the region of £20m per season to the Merseyside club.

Why not leaking the 2026/27 kit is a big win for Everton

Take Tottenham Hotspur, for example, through checking notorious kit leak site Footy Headlines, Spurs fans knew back in March what their away kit was going to look like.

The kit was only officially released a matter of days ago, with the excitement and intrigue already ruined for most supporters who are active on social media.

In Everton’s case, there is going to be real curiosity building up ahead of Thursday’s release as no one outside of the club or Castore has an idea what it actually looks like.

This is a big positive for the club as all eyes will be on their social media platforms waiting for the 9am launch.

Arguably the biggest win for Everton is that an early leak of the kit has also prevented any replica productions being made in advance of its launch.

With revenue such an important aspect of the Premier League’s financial regulations, bringing in every possible penny to the club is massively important.

The cost of football shirts in 2026 may be pricing some fans out of the market, but losing sales to the knock-off markets is something Everton will be keen to avoid.

Everton brought in significant revenue through shirt sales last season following the loan signing of Jack Grealish.

Nailing the design of this season’s kits will give a big boost to Everton’s revenue figures, with fans more open to investing their money into a shirt that is aesthetically pleasing.

The proof will be in the pudding on Thursday morning, with all eyes on Everton’s social media channels for the launch.
