Everton are preparing to bid farewell to Goodison Park ahead of their stadium move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton’s new ground will be called the Hill Dickinson and the sponsorship is set to earn the club around £6m-a-year.

Although, Everton supporters aren’t massively keen on the name, with many insisting that they’ll just call it Bramley-Moore.

Rival fans have also had a lot to say about it, so the reaction to the announcement hasn’t been massively positive.

But, these Toffees have been passionately defending Hill Dickinson and here’s why.

These Everton fans defending Hill Dickinson stadium name

The general consensus among Everton fans is that they much prefer Bramley-Moore to the Hill Dickinson.

However, these supporters have been passionately defending the name on X, formerly known as Twitter.

@antoniaellenw posted: “I BEG the average Everton fan, do your research into Hill Dickinson. I interviewed for this company, their global reach in numerous markets is massive, YOY growth, a local, positive and legitimate business who can pay the funds. Well done Everton.”

@TONYTIGHE commented: “Antonia, they’ve acted for me for 40 years. Buying houses, buildings, acquisitions and disposals. They are an outstanding world wide law firm headquartered on Merseyside in Old Hall Street. Those that know KNOW! Those that don’t, can dream about Qatar for half the price!”

@petermorris1878 added: “I agree. They have an anonymous name outside of their own sphere & have ambitions to change that. So what? That is why they are investing in the sponsorship. There is no contamination. They are deeply seeded in Liverpool. Longer than Everton! Stadiums become iconic because of events!”

“Love the fact it’s also a local company with a global reach, most of us said we wanted Everton to retain their relationships within the City when we move, maybe @friedkingroup have listened,” @the_toffeeman explained.

“The history of this company dates back to Everton’s founding fathers…Will Cuff, Everton chairman, Solicitor and Chairman,” @colinefc1878 commented.

@JohnDay1878 said: “I was underwhelmed at first as I was expecting a massive global name like Qatar Airways or something, but at the end of the day it’s a name, it means very little to me. If it’s called the Lisbon Stadium or the Hill Dickinson stadium. Deals like this get us back up near the top.”

Angus Kinnear says naming new stadium the Hill Dickinson is ‘strategic’

Everton’s new CEO Angus Kinnear is insistent that the naming rights deal is a ‘strategic step forward’ for the football club.

“Welcoming Hill Dickinson as our naming rights partner is a bold and strategic step forward,” Kinnear explained in Hill Dickinson’s statement.

“This partnership goes beyond branding — it’s a shared commitment to progress, excellence, and the regeneration of our city. The Hill Dickinson Stadium will stand as a symbol of Everton’s ambitions, our values, and the global future we are building together.”

Craig Scott, CEO of Hill Dickinson, said: “To put our name to Everton’s new stadium is a once-in-a-generation opportunity.

“We believe deeply in what this project stands for — a bold, transformational vision for Liverpool and its future.

“This partnership is about legacy, ambition, and the power of two globally recognised organisations coming together to make a difference.”
