Wolves have all but ruled out Mario Lemina from tomorrow’s match against Everton.
Everton are set for another tough match in the Premier League after enduring defeats to Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur over the past week.
While the Toffees aren’t facing a ‘Big Six’ club, Wolves have proven very difficult to beat under Gary O’Neil.
The Midlands outfit currently sit eleventh in the league table after beating the likes of Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham this term. O’Neil’s side also haven’t lost on home soil since a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in September.
Everton face injury troubles with Abdoulaye Doucoure, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Tarkowski all likely to be sidelined.
However, Wolves are now facing a huge problem of their own in regards to key man Mario Lemina.
The ‘incredible’ Gabon international has been hugely important in what will be his first full season with Wolves, scoring four goals in 17 games – two of which have come in their past two matches.
However, Lemina is now set to miss tomorrow’s game for personal reasons. The midfielder’s father was hospitalised two months ago and O’Neil has now confirmed that he has returned to France.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash (as per Express & Star), O’Neil said: “Mario has gone back to France to attend a family issue, I don’t want to speak about it too much as it’s not my place.

“Mario didn’t train today and that’s all I can say on it.
“Around tomorrow it’s too early to say, my only thoughts are with Mario and what he needs at this moment.
“Some things are more important than football matches.”
Nothing other than a win will do for Everton
Wolves could also be without Hwang Hee-chan, who scored 10 goals in 19 games before he was forced off with injury against Brentford.
Tomorrow’s game is an extremely hard one to predict given both teams’ form over the last couple of months.
Everton will be desperate to bounce back and really don’t have much choice but to win if they want to avoid dropping down into the relegation zone.
A solid end to 2023 will be a huge boost to the Toffees, who will need to play out an even better first half of 2024 if they are to steer clear of the Championship for another season.
