The wheels are certainly in motion at Goodison Park as Everton’s summer transfer business gets underway.
Rumour is rife on Merseyside, with incomings and outgoings expected over the coming weeks and months.
Former Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam has already arrived and is expected to be joined by long-term target Iliman Ndiaye.
Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh is also understood to be eager to move to the Blues, but other clubs are believed to be targeting the 19-year-old.
With several irons in the fire, exits will likely be necessary for the Toffees to comply with financial regulations.
And one departure was confirmed on Friday evening.
Yannick Bolasie and Alex Iwobi react to Ben Godfrey’s Everton exit

Ben Godfrey, who was signed for £25million back in 2020, has now completed a £10million move to Serie A side Atalanta.
The switch comes after the 26-year-old reportedly saw a move fall through in January. Lyon were also believed to be interested in the former Norwich City man.
Godfrey, who was entering the last 12 months of his contract, wrote on Instagram: “When I joined the club in 2020, every at the club from the fans, staff and players made me feel welcome.”
He added: “I’ve made some great memories at this football club and will always appreciate my time there, and I feel like I can leave knowing I gave 100%. Now, it’s time to move on to my next challenge. Thank you for all the support..all the best. @Everton.”
Former Toffee Yannick Bolasie wrote in the comments, “Good luck, bro,” and Alex Iwobi added an emoji.
Demarai Gray, James Garner and Dele Alli also sent messages to the 26-year-old.
Further exits should be expected at Goodison Park
With clubs needing to balance the books before the end of June, further transfer dealings can be expected to occur over the weekend.
It remains to be seen whether Everton will sell again before the end of the month.
However, further exits will almost certainly take place during the summer window.
Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana is the most likely candidate to depart. Dependable journalist Alan Myers confirmed there is ‘serious’ interest in the 22-year-old, who is currently away on international duty.
If the Toffees can raise around £50million, moving Onana on could prove smart business, particularly given that financial regulation is set to play a significant role over the summer and into next season.
Of course, Jarrad Branthwaite’s future is also one to keep a close eye on, but thankfully, Everton appear to be playing hard to get regarding their prized asset.
