Yannick Bolasie was once known as one of the Premier League’s great entertainers.

The 34-year-old’s spell with Crystal Palace lives long in the memory, with his quick feet some of the most elusive the top flight has ever seen.

However, it’s fair to say the winger’s career hasn’t entirely gone as planned.

After moving to Everton in 2016, four loan spells followed as Bolasie struggled to find form at Goodison Park.

On the whole, it was a largely disappointing transfer.

However, one positive for Bolasie is that he could finally play alongside an opponent he never liked facing.

Bolasie in awe of Everton legend

Talking on the FILTHYFELLAS Podcast, the former Crystal Palace winger claimed Seamus Coleman is one of his most formidable opponents.

“Seamus Coleman is good man! Seamus is cold,” he said.

“He is fast! And strong, mad strong! That’s one of the fullbacks I can say when I am playing against him, it’s a real battle.

“He knows it’s a real battle, but we’re going hell for leather, and he’s trying to take me one way, and I’m going the other.

“When I came to Everton, he was saying it was good to finally see you on my side!”

There’s a solid argument to suggest Coleman is one of the best value signings in Premier League history.

15 years have passed since the defender completed his £60,000 move to Goodison Park.

415 appearances later, the right-back is still going strong. The 35-year-old will go down as an Everton legend when he eventually departs Goodison Park.

“He encapsulates the feeling of what the club is about, or should be,” said Sean Dyche.

“There are a lot of players buying into that and I think that mentality comes from him, he resonates that out to the group.

“He knows the respect he has from the staff and the players and the fans, and rightly so, he deserves all of it.

“I mention our captain again; he’s done well, but he knows that. He looks fit, he looks strong, and I am pleased with that.”

Everton could certainly do with another player coming through the door and having the same impact as Coleman during his 15-year stint at Goodison Park.
