Youssef Chermiti has shared his excitement at Beto’s arrival at Everton.

Taking to Everton’s Instagram page, the striker reacted to the signing of his attacking compatriot.

Beto joins the Toffees in a £26 million deal from Udinese after completing his medical over the weekend.

The 25-year-old netted ten times in Serie A last season and has now claimed he is ready to bring goals to Everton’s struggling attack.

Beto could be playing alongside Chermiti in the near future, with the youngster arriving from Sporting Lisbon only a few weeks ago.

The teenager made his senior debut for the club in the defeat to Wolves and will be hoping he can settle in quickly with Beto alongside him.

Neither player has featured for Portugal’s national team, but have both spent time playing in the Primeira Liga and will also link up with Joao Virginia and Andre Gomes as the club’s Portuguese players.

Following Everton’s announcement of Beto’s arrival this afternoon, Chermiti was quick to respond on Instagram and wrote: ‘Le gooooooo’ – with a blue heart.

Will Chermiti and Beto play alongside each other at Everton?

Beto has moved to Merseyside on a four-year contract, though it is unclear whether he was registered in time to play against Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup tomorrow. Chermiti could potentially make his first start for the club as they travel to the Eco-Power Stadium.

Meanwhile, Beto may be forced to wait until the Premier League meeting with Sheffield United this weekend. The forward is likely to be thrust straight in at the deep end, with Sean Dyche currently having to play Arnaut Danjuma up top due to his lack of attacking options.

Everton have now added Beto, Chermiti, Danjuma, Ashley Young and Jack Harrison to their ranks. They could still also cash in on a number of players, with Alex Iwobi, Demarai Gray, Andre Gomes and Neal Maupay all linked with imminent departures.
