Everton have suffered plenty of injuries this campaign, although, so have most Premier League sides.
However, what differentiates the Toffees from the rest of the division is the calibre of player being struck down, made even worse due to their huge overreliance on a few key figures.
Amadou Onana, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Jordan Pickford and Jarrad Branthwaite make up the spine of Sean Dyche’s side, and yet the former two have both suffered lengthy spells on the sidelines this season.
Misfortune has been relentless throughout the campaign for Everton, but following this international break that does seem set to end.
Especially because one player now seems ready and raring to return from injury.
Injured Everton star now pictured in training
Having seen their match against Liverpool postponed due to their progression in the FA Cup, Everton were afforded a much-needed three-week break at the start of March.
Given how tired and sluggish the squad had become, it was thought that such a rest would rejuvenate them upon their return. A trip to Portugal certainly will have aided in that recuperation.
However, one man actually did not go with the first team at all, deemed unfit and left behind to train alone.
That decision seems to have paid dividends though, with Arnaut Danjuma having now been pictured back with the first team in the club’s latest round of photos.
This marks a huge boost for Everton ahead of their trip to the south coast this weekend.
Arnaut Danjuma could be Sean Dyche’s secret weapon
Having been out since late January, and having been used sparsely before that anyway, it feels like Danjuma has gone severely under the radar this season with Everton.
Joining in the summer on loan from Villarreal, just six months after he had snubbed the Toffees in favour of Tottenham Hotspur, it was expected that the Dutchman would fast become a key figure for this relegation-threatened side.
However, with just five league starts to his name, he has hardly been given a chance.
With the likes of Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil always preferred on the wings, and Abdoulaye Doucoure an asset Dyche cannot afford to drop, the 27-year-old has been relegated to minor appearances off the bench.

That is, despite less than three years ago having scored 16 and assisting a further four across all competitions in his debut year in Spain, helping his side reach the Champions League semi-finals.
That pedigree alone trumps most inside the Goodison Park dressing room, and as such the reemergence of the £52k-a-week ace now could prove pivotal in offering Dyche a much-needed secret weapon to unleash on the Premier League.
