A round-up of the latest Everton news as Fabrizio Romano says 777 Partners can play a role in a transfer for Ben Godfrey and the Blues face issues at Bramley-Moore Dock.
777 Partners could factor into Genoa’s interest in Everton’s Godfrey
Genoa are exploring the transfer of Everton defender Godfrey entering the final week of the mid-season market, according to Romano. Talks have also already started between the Serie A and Premier League sides about a deal. But the 26-year-old has a raft of possible teams.
One factor which can aid Genoa in any tug-of-war for Godfrey’s transfer is that 777 Partners are the owners of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris side. The Miami-based investment group are also still striving to finalise their takeover of Everton after agreeing to buy Farhad Moshiri’s stake.

But Romano adds that Everton believe they will receive superior offers for Godfrey’s transfer than Genoa’s in the coming days. So, 777 Partners will need to really grease the wheels for a deal. Godfrey may leave Goodison Park having only played in three games so far this season.

Everton face fresh issues with their Bramley-Moore Dock stadium
Everton are now facing issues with their Bramley-Moore Dock stadium project after a group of workers walked off the site. That is according to the Liverpool Echo, which reports that a swarm of around 150 electricians left the site at 15:30 on the dot on Wednesday afternoon.
The electricians left the project at the end of their legal working hours over a dispute about pay and overtime. One unnamed electrician told the Liverpool Echo that they had not been paid for the extra hours they had put in. So, they are pushing for a ‘fair’ uplift in their wages.
Everton plan to leave Goodison Park and move into their new Bramley-Moore Dock ground at the start of the 2025/26 season. The Blues want to start a new campaign at the stadium, despite expectations that the project will be completed and operational by the end of 2024.

Fiorentina could axe Mina just seven months after his Everton exit

Former Everton ace Yerry Mina may be set to join another new club, just seven months after his release. That is according to Pipe Sierra, who reports that the 29-year-old is very likely to leave Fiorentina already. He only joined I Viola as a free agent after leaving the Blues in June.
Mina is studying three offers for a transfer in January with the Colombian attracting interest from Olympiacos and two unnamed clubs. Porto are also tracking his situation but are yet to make an offer. The centre-half and Fiorentina view Olympiacos’ offer as the best bid to date.
Fiorentina are open to letting Mina move on already having not started any of their 20 Serie A games this season. He has further only featured in four as a substitute for a total of just 40 minutes. The 6 ft 4 brute also missed seven games due to a muscular injury earlier this term.
