Everton are still to find out if the Premier League has approved 777 Partners’ proposed takeover.
The two parties signed a Heads of Terms agreement over the US investment firm’s purchase of Farhad Moshiri’s 94 per cent stake on 15 September. The ratification process was expected to take around 12 weeks.
However, concern has emerged over 777’s source of funding, which has seen the due diligence process drag on for nearly six months.

And now, both parties are growing frustrated with the time taken.
Everton takeover end date in sight
According to The Daily Mail, 777 and Everton have extended their original competition date. However, there is an understanding that the saga cannot run beyond next month.
777 are believed to have provided the club with around £190million in loans to fund the club and stadium redevelopment since September.

In a fresh twist, it’s understood Everton require more money to continue operating until the end of the season by the end of next month.
And now, 777 are believed to be reluctant to provide any further funding, considering the uncertainty over the current situation.
Everton takeover saga descending into chaos
Evertonians are now used to this sort of scenario unfolding.
For many, 777 Partners are not preferred to take charge of the club as Moshiri looks to plot his exit route.
The US-based firm’s reputation isn’t the best, and it feels as if red flags are emerging frequently.
The Premier League have taken a lot of flak, and rightfully so. Yet, they’re right to vet Everton’s prospective owners thoroughly.

This view is also shared by football finance expert Kieran Maguire, who believes the “red flags” surrounding 777 Partners cannot be ignored.
Talking on the Price is Football Podcast; he said: “We’ve seen information come out that within the 777 staples of clubs, we have Standard Liege.”
“For the last three months, they’ve paid their wages late. These are red flags upon red flags upon reg flags.”
On the proposed takeover of Everton, he added: “Whilst the Premier League has been given a lot of stick for not giving a definitive answer, they are right to demand from 777 information.”
