Abdoulaye Doucoure will get the credit, but Gary Neville was wowed by ‘real bright spark’ in Everton win

Everton sealed all three points at the death against Nottingham Forest thanks to Abdoulaye Docuoure’s last-gasp winner.

It was a game lacking any real quality in the final third until deep into stoppage time.

David Moyes has relaxed his stance on the club’s fight against relegation after the draw against Arsenal last weekend.

But any remaining doubts can now be put to bed as the Toffees get their first three points on the board since beating Crystal Palace in February.

Everton have now pulled themselves to an 18-point cushion on the bottom three after Paul Merson predicted Everton to lose to Forest.

Moyes handed a rare start to Armando Broja, but there was only one man who truly impressed Gary Neville on Saturday afternoon.

Gary Neville wowed by Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye

After over a month out through injury, Iliman Ndiaye returned to Everton’s starting XI against Arsenal last week.

The Senegal international was even able to get back to scoring ways as he converted from the spot to beat David Raya.

Speaking on NBC Sports, Neville admitted that it was Ndiaye who really stood out for him in an Everton shirt.

“Ndiaye was a real bright spark but there has been a real struggle when the ball enters the box,” said the former Manchester United right-back.

Coming into the game, Neville predicted Forest to beat Everton alongside former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.

It may have been a game with clear-cut chances coming few and far between for both sides, but Everton can always rely on Ndiaye to put on a show.

Iliman Ndiaye was Everton’s biggest threat vs Nottingham Forest

Tottenham Hotspur snubbed Ndiaye as a youngster and they must be regretting their decision now.

The 25-year-old is Everton’s top goalscorer this season in what has been a seriously impressive term for the winger.

Having only just come back from injury, Moyes did not play Ndiaye for any longer than he needed as he’d like to keep him available for the remainder of the season.

Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White previously hailed Ndiaye earlier in the season and it seems the sentiment is shared by the Man United legend.

He may not have been able to provide Everton the breakthrough, but it was another positive showing from Ndiaye.
