Everton fans will be delighted to see Jack Grealish finally agree a move to Merseyside, but another deal has dampened spirits.

David Moyes now has a real statement signing with the ‘best Premier League player’ in Grealish.

The Friedkin Group will be happy to get the loan deal across the line for the 29-year-old who is hoping to rejuvenate his career.

It’s clear that it might take some time, but the winger must hit the ground running as Grealish could join Everton for £50 million.

Movements are being made, which is good to see, but another target is set to move to Everton’s Premier League rivals in Nottingham Forest.

Everton target James McAtee set to join Nottingham Forest

Another option who could have joined the Toffees’ attacking plans this summer was James McAtee.

Like Grealish, the young midfielder was a target from Man City, but Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Forest are closing in on a £20 million deal for the 22-year-old.

Of course, this is a blow to Moyes’ remaining options as McAtee was in talks with Everton.

Although this isn’t ideal and the fee stated above is no doubt a bargain, it’s not the end of the world for the Blues.

Instead, Everton might not have to worry about signing another creative option in the middle of the park.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s Everton debut proves that David Moyes doesn’t need James McAtee

It’s a shame to miss out on the ‘incredible’ quality of McAtee, who will no doubt be a success at Forest.

But the Toffees don’t have to worry, as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s debut against Roma last Saturday might have suggested that Moyes has already got his desired number ten.

The creativity of the 26-year-old was apparent, and Dewsbury-Hall impressed Moyes, as it looks like moving forward, Everton have their creative outlet.

It’s an exciting glimpse of what the Merseyside club could be getting next season, and McAtee looks to be old news.
