Alex Iwobi has responded to Demarai Gray after his move to Al-Ettifaq.

The former Everton midfielder commented on Gray’s most recent Instagram post in support of his move to Saudi Arabia.

The pair are two of 13 players to leave Everton this summer, with Iwobi securing a surprise deadline day switch to Craven Cottage.

The Nigerian was one of the Toffees’ best players last season as he made 38 appearances in the Premier League, however the club had accepted defeat as they failed to tie him down to a new contract.

Iwobi spent four years on Merseyside before joining Fulham last week and has since been followed by Gray out the exit door.

The winger had been pushing for a move away from Everton all summer and has now confirmed his arrival in Saudi Arabia on the Saudi Pro League’s deadline day.

While Gray has come under a lot of criticism from fans for his departure and recent social media comments, Iwobi has shown his full support for his former teammate.

After Gray posted a photo of himself signing his new contract alongside the caption: “new chapter”, Iwobi quickly replied with a comment saying: “All The Best My Brother”.

The Jamaica international had shown similar plaudits to Iwobi when his exit from Everton was confirmed, responding to an Instagram video of him sporting a Fulham shirt. Gray wrote: “Very good!”

Gray joins familiar faces in Steven Gerrard, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson at Al-Ettifaq, with the trio previously plying their trade at the other side of Liverpool.

Fans can’t expect to see much of the winger in the future, though they will reunite with Iwobi when the two clubs face off for the second time in January.
