Few around Everton would have predicted the club would enjoy such a summer of vast change.
After all, despite many believing that their finances were improved, a precarious situation was still expected.
And yet, despite obvious PSR hurdles, Kevin Thelwell has overcome them with ease in order to provide Sean Dyche with a hugely bolstered squad.
He is far from finished too.
Alan Myers delivers Jaden Philogene update
Alan Myers is the man most Evertonians rush to for their Everton news, given the Sky Sports reporter is usually very well-informed on the club.
He seeks not to publish conjecture, but instead promote only what he has heard from reliable sources. That is why he is such a trusted name in the Everton community.
However, it seems on this occasion he might have gotten things wrong, as he has just offered an update on Everton’s £16m pursuit of Jaden Philogene.

He wrote on X: ‘Philogene deal looking more possible, clubs have an agreement in place and player believed to be open to Goodison move but strong competition from two other clubs. Everton also concentrating on other targets in the winger position.’
What makes this particularly startling is that he admitted less than a week ago that a deal seemed unlikely, writing: ‘I don’t see them happening tbh’.
For once, it is good to see Myers get things slightly wrong!
Everton still have that pulling power
It is nice to see that, despite relegation battles galore, points deductions and financial issues, Everton still remains a desirable place for players to come.
Philogene is just the latest to opt for Everton over others, with Iliman Ndiaye another who selected Goodison Park despite outside interest.
Naturally, the presentation of the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium is a huge source of intrigue for arriving players seeking to make their mark at a historic new ground.
However, the illustrious history of the Toffees alone should be enough to convince most, with Thelwell seemingly particularly well-versed in translating that to the players.
One of the best things Farhad Moshiri ever did was hire this director of football, as the first to steer this sinking ship towards safety and sustainability.
Philogene represents the perfect example of this new era.

He is young, talented, hard-working and skilful, and should he succeed, Everton will thrive. And yet, at just 22 years old, he will retain a beneficial sell-on value whether he dominates the Premier League or not.
Intelligent business and a fine capture for the Toffees, whose summer transfer revolution continues.
