Alan Myers predicts which two signings Everton will make before the summer deadline

It’s not surprising to see Everton seeking to snag a few late deals in the window, but this year feels different to others.

After all, the Toffees impressively tied up the bulk of their business much earlier in the summer, signing Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye, Jesper Lindstrom and Jake O’Brien all before August even began.

So, whilst it has been a month of silence on Merseyside, with the quiet anticipation that there might still be more to come even if they hadn’t suggested as much, and in a far more calculated manner than previous years.

Well, that cautious optimism has now been justified, with Kevin Thelwell once again wading into the market before its conclusion to further bolster Sean Dyche‘s squad.

Alan Myers provides Everton transfer update

Seeking to provide an update on this grandstand finish to the summer, revered journalist Alan Myers has now issued his thoughts on the matter after what he has been hearing.

Always brimming with useful knowledge on the Toffees, Evertonians hang on his every word, and justifiably so when he reports with such accuracy.

So, to see him deliver an update on not one but two targets should have fans enthralled, as he writes on X: ‘I expect at least two in, Mangala and Nuamah probably two out, I can only see DCL going if we get a replacement but let’s see, as we know anything can happen.’

Orel Mangala completed his Everton medical yesterday, according to reports, whilst Everton are pushing to sign Ernest Nuamah as well.

Everton looking to raid John Textor’s Lyon

Whilst it might be somewhat gratuitous to think that John Textor is already helping out Everton before his takeover is even complete, this end to the summer is making it certainly hard to deny the links.

After all, with the Mangala deal seemingly wrapped up, and a battle ongoing for Nuamah, the Toffees could end the transfer window having snagged two players from Lyon, one of the American’s owned clubs, to bolster positions they were richly lacking.

It’s almost too coincidental that this French club appeared to provide exactly what Dyche had been lacking at the eleventh hour.

Mangala is set to provide energy and passing proficiency in the midfield, whilst Nuamah will inject some much-needed dynamism out wide to petrify Premier League full-backs.

Should both of these deals be completed, as Myers suggests they very well could, it might end up being a far more profitable season for Everton than their opening two league matches suggested.
