With Everton sneakily enjoying a solid run of form in the Premier League, it’s easy to forget that a takeover is still rumbling about in the background at Goodison Park.

After all, Dan Friedkin is still very much keen on the Toffees, with some of his long-term plans already emerging despite having yet to receive the green light.

The American already owns AS Roma, but this opportunity to wade into the Premier League is one that he simply could not pass up.

Especially when the vessel to do so is as rich in history as Everton.

However, with radio silence on that front at the moment, some are understandably getting nervous. Fortunately, Alan Myers is on hand to ease any emerging fears.

Alan Myers shares the latest on Everton’s takeover

Taking to X, the Sky Sports journalist was quick to reply when asked about the takeover.

After all, his word is revered by most Evertonians, who see him as the man with all the necessary information about the club they love.

As such, many flock to ask him questions about the Toffees, knowing that he will often answer, and is not afraid to reveal what information he knows.

On this particular occasion, a fan wrote: ‘Any news on the new owners a when it will be done?’

His reply was a short but insightful one, claiming: ‘But all going as planned I’m told.’

Sean Dyche needs to prove his worth to The Friedkin Group

With the Friedkin Group closing in on their Everton takeover, Dyche’s opportunities to prove his worth to them are lessening.

And yesterday’s abhorrent display will have done him no favours, as despite snatching a draw, they performed awfully.

With his contract expiring in the summer, the Everton manager is on borrowed time.

His opportunities to prove why he deserves a new deal are slowly seeping away, and therefore every match is precious.

He cannot afford to let games like last night’s go by with such ease, if he truly has aspirations to stick around and lead Everton into the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
