Alan Pardew has claimed that every Premier League manager would take the opportunity to sign a key Everton player this summer.

After the 777 Partners’ failed takeover of Everton, Farhad Moshiri is set to hold talks with other interested parties.

With uncertainty surrounding the future ownership of the club, it’s looking more and more likely that the Toffees will be forced to offload a couple of stars this summer.

Unsurprisingly, Jarrad Branthwaite is attracting plenty of interest after a dazzling season at Goodison Park under Sean Dyche.

But former Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew feels another Everton star could be in demand over the coming months.

Pardew says every manager would sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Speaking on talkSPORT [02/06 8:40 pm], Pardew made an interesting claim about Calvert-Lewin’s future.

The former Magpies boss feels the Everton striker would be in high demand if it wasn’t for his recent injury record.

“I think every Premier League manager would take him. Whether you could get your owner to say, ‘Okay, I am going to pay the £40 million or the £45 million’, whatever he is going to be, it will be less than that given his injuries,” he said.

“Chairmen don’t want to go for a player that might only play 10 games, but his 10 games could be so significant to a manager and it could save his job.

“He could save you in the league. He could win you a cup. He could get you into Europe. That’s the difference he can make when he is on his game.”

Calvert-Lewin deserves another season at Everton

While a significant sale feels inevitable at this stage, it would be a surprise to see Calvert-Lewin head out the door.

The 27-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent years and despite improvements on that front last season, he netted just seven times in the Premier League.

Yet, four of his league goals did come in his last seven appearances of the season, which should offer Dyche some encouragement moving forward.
