Everton are aiming to sign three players this January transfer window, with a striker on David Moyes’ wishlist.
Everton shelled out £30m on Thierno Barry last summer, but he’s only managed to score three Premier League goals this season.
So, Moyes is keen on bringing in more quality up front to help Barry and Beto, who clearly aren’t European level.
That’s where the Toffees are aspiring to be, so they’ll need to recruit a centre-forward who is capable of scoring goals at the highest level.
Ivan Toney has been linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and so too has Wolves frontman Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Who would be your dream Everton signing this month? 👀
Now, there is a fresh rumour emerging linking the Merseysiders to a striker whom Alan Shearer has previously heaped praise on.

Everton interested in signing Callum Wilson
According to The Athletic, Everton are showing an interest in West Ham United striker Callum Wilson this winter.
The Toffees were exploring a deal to sign Wilson last summer, so evidently Moyes is a big fan of 33-year-old.
Wilson is in discussions to end his contract with the Hammers, which would allow him to join a club on a free transfer.
Would YOU take Callum Wilson at Everton? 🤔
He can boast 92 goals in 256 Premier League appearances… ⚽️
Wilson has scored four goals in eight Premier League starts this term, but his best spell came at Newcastle United.
The England international netted 49 times in 130 outings, including 18 league goals in the 2022/23 campaign.
Alan Shearer adores Callum Wilson
Speaking back in 2022, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer heaped praise on the now Everton transfer target Wilson.
“I really like how he works defenders, irritates the life out of them and keeps them busy,” Shearer explained.
“He never gets bullied. Callum has got an edge to him, a bit of nastiness and you need that. You need that bit of arrogance, that bit of strut and belief in yourself, because if you don’t look after yourself, who is going to look after you? Nobody.
” I like that about him, I like that he riles defenders. It’s part of his game.”
Clearly, Shearer would approve if Everton decided to sign him, although there is reported interest from Leeds United and Leicester City, too.
