Alex Iwobi has now sent a two-word message to Everton midfielder James Garner as the Blues secured a 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

Sean Dyche’s side earned a 3-0 win at Goodison Park with £15m man James Garner grabbing his first Premier League goal.

Indeed, the former Manchester United player scored his first goal in a blue shirt during last month’s 2-1 League Cup win at Villa Park, and his first Premier League strike is yet another milestone in his development.

Taking to his Instagram after the game, Garner shared his elation about scoring and assisting the Toffees in picking up a vital three points.

The 22-year-old posted: “First Premier League goal. What a feeling what a win.”

Heading into the comments section, former Everton player Alex Iwobi, who joined Fulham in a £22m move during the summer, sent Garner a two-word message in response to his debut strike.

The Nigerian international commented: “MY GUY!!”

Garner has shown he can bring goals to Everton if played in preferred position

Taking advantage of a defence lapse from Bournemouth, Garner picked up possession deep in the visitors’ half and coolly stroked the ball past Neto, putting Everton in front after just eight minutes.

Loan singing Jack Harrison doubled Everton’s lead before Abdoulaye Doucoure sealed the win with a second half strike in front of a jubilant Gwladys Street.

Indeed, it was a superb team display and while there were standout individual performances throughout the Toffees’ side, Garner’s outstanding contribution earned him the Player of the Match on the BBC Sport website with a rating of 7.79 out of 10.

The 22-year-old’s versatility has seen him play in multiple positions during his time at Goodison Park including right-back and more recently right-wing.

However, it is clear that a central midfield role is where James Garner will flourish and hopefully his goal on Saturday is the first of many in the Premier League for Everton.
