Dion Dublin has heaped praise on Jordan Pickford for his performance against Italy.
Speaking during Channel 4’s commentary of England’s EURO 2024 qualifier, the pundit was left really impressed with the goalkeeper’s ‘amazing’ save during the first half.
England hosted Italy at Wembley Stadium for the first time since they were beaten on penalties in the Euros final two years ago. The Three Lions claimed the bragging rights this time round though, however they did find themselves behind after 15 minutes.
Following Harry Kane’s penalty on the half hour mark, Pickford pulled off a brilliant save to keep it level on home soil.

Dublin dazzled by the 29-year-old’s acrobatics, with the ‘keeper adding yet another spectacular save in an England shirt to his bank.
Speaking on commentary at 8:33pm, Dublin said: “What a save that is by the way, What a save. The goalkeeper has done really well there to get himself into that position.
“Jordan Pickford is going to his right because he thinks he might be putting it in that near post, it’s a really strong left hand. It’s all he could do.
“It’s impressive because he’s had to get across the goal. The speed he gets up again because he thinks there might be another chance coming in is amazing. Great save.”
Jordan Pickford’s heroics go unrecognised
Jude Bellingham will get the plaudits for another superb performance for arguably the best player in the world right now, but Jordan Pickford did put on another top display for the national team.

The Everton star certainly doesn’t get the praise he deserves for his international performances, despite being the hero at the 2018 World Cup and continuing to send fans into hysterics with his saves.
Aaron Ramsdale is yet to displace him in the starting line-up though, while he remains a fan favourite at Goodison Park. Pickford is the Toffees’ highest earner, but supporters will just be happy that they have just managed to keep hold of him even after his brilliant tournaments.
