Everton, were they not backed by some rather influential individuals both in politics and the media, would be fighting their battle against the Premier League alone and in the shadows.
Unable to comment on the proceedings by law, it seems the organisation with which they are at war with has found alternative methods to pump out their propaganda, seemingly leaking information to select journalists who help feed the narrative to the masses.
It is for this reason that many other sides in England hold no sympathy for the Toffees, viewing tribalism over a fight that very much affects them, whether they know it or not.
After all, the precedent set should Everton win would surely see PSR abolished, allowing the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa to unleash their financial might on the division.

How have the media silenced Everton’s protests?
There have been various ways in which the media have dangerously silenced Everton in their attempts to push back against this ruling.
Sky Sports have been the biggest perpetrators of this mass censorship, with TNT Sports’ coverage of the game on Saturday putting their competitors to shame.
Not only did they offer plenty of pre-match airtime, they even explained why Goodison Park turned into a sea of yellow in the tenth minute admirably.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports actually neglected to show an interview done with Burnham regarding the ten-point deduction, as well as having blocked out the similar protest at Manchester United whilst even refusing to show the plane flown over Liverpool vs Manchester City.
It is mind-boggling the lengths they will go to protect their status with the Premier League, and quite dangerous that one of England’s chief sports broadcasters is seemingly so under the thumb.
If Burnham was not pushing back so vehemently, then perhaps Sky Sports and the Premier League would actually have completely silenced Everton.
