Everton are now left in a real pickle as to what they are going to do with Harrison Armstrong and his Preston North End loan.
David Moyes has seen two of his starting midfield options taken away from him in recent weeks through injury and international duty, respectively.
Although the January transfer window is just days away from opening, Everton could avoid spending any unnecessary cash by recalling Armstrong from Preston.
Moyes has admitted Everton are considering recalling Armstrong after the latest injury blow seeing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sidelined.
It would be a huge blow for the Championship outfit, who have utilised the addition of the 18-year-old midfielder this season.
With just days until Everton can do some business, Angus Kinnear has now shared his own thoughts on the Everton academy graduate.

What Angus Kinnear has mooted about Everton recalling Harrison Armstrong
Despite the speculation, Armstrong would be keen to remain at Preston for the remainder of the season given he is playing regularly.
Any return to Merseyside would surely see the youngster would demand guaranteed game time.
Speaking to the Everton website, Kinnear has waxed lyrical about the midfielder’s talent and what he has seen during his time at Deepdale.
What would be the best decision for Armstrong’s development? 😬
“We are also delighted that Harrison Armstrong is earning rave reviews from his loan spell at Preston and looks set to be the next in our long list of Academy graduates to become a First Team regular,” said Kinnear.
Paul Heckingbottom has been delighted with Armstrong’s displays for the Lilywhites as he shines once again in the Championship.
There is no doubt that, if Everton were to recall Armstrong, Preston would be gutted to lose a player of such quality.
But the Toffees are light in that area and they may view the recall as the best option to save funds for other areas next month.
Kinnear issues Everton January transfer verdict
Everton News columnist Alan Myers wants Everton to sign three players in January as he targets big progression from the Blues.
The Toffees spent well in the summer, with nine players coming in after what proved a busy summer in both directions of trade.
You can only pick one in January, who are you taking? 🤔
But the January window is notoriously difficult to deal in given it is only open for a single month, and Kinnear made this very clear.
“We will work towards identifying and executing opportunities that will make us stronger in the long term,” Kinnear added.
“But these opportunities will need to be exceptional, and we will avoid short-term fixes that will weaken our hand for phase two of our rebuild next summer.”
Moyes was thrilled with Everton’s summer business, but the January window could prove a frustrating one with so many dominoes having to fall in a row to get deals done.
