Everton lost a number of players as free agents over the summer and the Friedkins will want to avoid this happening next year.

So many players were allowed to depart Everton earlier in the year as a bloated squad was inherited from the previous regime.

David Moyes was handed sufficient backing from The Friedkin Group to replace the players which he lost at the end of their contracts.

Clearly, the American owners have looked to get ahead of the contracts set to expire in the coming months.

James Tarkowski has signed his new Everton contract, with the defender set to see his previous deal come to a conclusion in the summer.

There are some other players who are now playing into the final months of their deal and speculation is beginning to mount.

Everton receiving a lot of interest in Vitaliy Mykolenko

Everton News reported last month that Everton are relaxed about Vitaliy Mykolenko’s contract situation.

There is also James Garner who appears to be taking priority despite his extension clause being there for the club to trigger.

According to journalist Ersan Serdal, Fenerbahce are the latest club to show an interest in Mykolenko ahead of the summer.

Vitaliy Mykolenko’s contract expires in the summer, what should Everton do with him? 🤔

Offer him a new deal? Let him go for free? Sell him in January?

From January, the Ukraine international will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign side.

It is claimed that the Turkish giants are closely monitoring the left-back’s situation as he is set to become a free agent as things stand.

Moyes has demanded more from Mykolenko, whose attacking input has left a lot to be desired on Merseyside.

A lot of time remains for something to change with the left-back’s contract situation, but the possible suitors are already beginning to form a line outside of the Hill Dickinson.

Everton must avoid losing Mykolenko for free

The Friedkin Group have transformed Everton’s finances in the one year they have spent on Merseyside.

Questions have been asked of Mykolenko and what he actually offers Everton on the pitch, but he remains a saleable asset for the club, which Angus Kinnear must step in to secure.

These stats are damning! What position do Everton need to upgrade first? 😳

Even if the club are open to the Ukraine international leaving the club, the Friedkins have shown they are financially diligent and will not want to lose a player at the age of 26 on a free.

Mykolenko has admitted he’s open to discussing a new Everton deal amid the speculation surrounding his future.

Although not spectacular, Mykolenko has certainly proven himself to be a solid feature of Moyes’ side.

Troy Deeney actually thinks Mykolenko is underrated in the Premier League. Whatever you think, he is certainly not an asset the new-look Everton should be allowing to walk out the door for free.
