Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga has now sent a two-word message to Everton midfielder James Garner on social media.

The £15m Everton midfielder posted on his Instagram account to celebrate England U-21’s comprehensive 3-0 win over Israel in the U-21’s European Championships semi-final on Wednesday evening.

Indeed, Elanga, who will be familiar with Garner’s quality after their time together as Old Trafford teammates, commented on the Everton player’s post.

Garner posted: “1 more to go!! Lets goo #U21 EURO.”

Prompting Elanga to compliment the Everton midfielder, stating: “Warrraaa player!”

The two may well have lined up at Goodison Park for Everton this season, as Elanga was linked with a January switch to Everton on loan.

The Blues went in search of attacking of attacking reinforcements following Anthony Gordon’s £45m move to Newcastle United, though ended the window empty-handed.

Elanga to Everton less risky in £10m January move, slow Everton now being punished

The 21-year-old Elanga has since been put up for sale by Manchester United according to reports in The Guardian, though could cost up to £30m.

This comes after a Liverpool Echo report from June stating that the Swede could be available for as little as £10m, though it now seems that United have tripled their asking price.

Whether or not Everton will look to reignite their interest in Anthony Elanga remains unclear, but the new asking price could be considerably beyond what the Blues are prepared to pay or can afford to.

The 21-year-old has found minutes hard to come by at Old Trafford making just 16 appearances last season, though the forward failed to find the net in any of them.

Indeed, given Everton’s financial limitations this summer, it seems unlikely that Elanga and Garner will reunite at Goodison Park, especially as the Toffees must avoid spending wastefully and the Swede could be a gamble.
