Anthony Gordon isn’t in the good books of Everton fans at this moment in time, but he’s just made an admission about a club legend and current employee that fans won’t mind.
The Toffees saw Anthony Gordon return to Goodison Park in the Premier League last time out, as Everton played Newcastle in what turned out to be a 0-0 draw.
However, it didn’t go to plan for Gordon as he saw his penalty saved by Jordan Pickford.
This led to all sorts of controversy after the game, as Everton took to social media to put out a bit of a troll post on Gordon.
Jamie Carragher and Dan Donachie weren’t happy with the post, but everyone else found it funny.
Now, Anthony Gordon has come out and praised a club legend at Everton.
Anthony Gordon says one former Everton player is a ‘legend’
Jordan Pickford guessed the right way, though it wasn’t the best of penalties regardless.
However, Gordon has already put it behind him and was seen talking about a former Everton player whilst away on international duty with England.

In a video shared by England, Anthony Gordon says that Leighton Baines is still a legend after being passed a photo of the pair together.
He stated.
“That was on my birthday that. It might have been my twelfth birthday. He still is a legend.”
Leighton Baines’ current role at Everton
After hanging up his boots on a 420-game career at Everton, Leighton Baines has dipped into management.
He’s currently the under-18s manager at Everton, trying to work his way up in the managerial game.
Interestingly, Phil Jagielka joked about Baines even getting a call-up to help Sean Dyche out at left-back after Vitalii Mykolenko’s injury, as he’s apparently still fully fit.
It’s good to see Gordon still very much in love with the Everton side of things with Baines, as he was clearly a boyhood hero for the attacker.
