Arnaut Danjuma’s agent drops honest admission over future amid Everton exit talk

Everton, under Sean Dyche, have tried to remain as constant and solid as possible.

He clearly has his preferred personnel, and unless struck down by injury or suspension, he usually sticks with those men relentlessly.

Even when the game has started, he is often reluctant to make substitutes until very late on, likely leaving many stars feeling frustrated on the bench as their game time dwindles.

Nathan Patterson’s continued absence in favour of Ashley Young has drawn particular scrutiny, as the future of the club is seemingly being curtailed for supposed stability and maturity that has seldom been seen.

However, with Arnaut Danjuma, this lack of minutes could now prove costly, with his agent having spoken out about the recent rumours linking him away from the club.

As a loanee from Villarreal, there is little point in him warming the bench for another side when there were plenty of suitors in the summer. Michael-Moses Jarman explained this, speaking to talkSPORT, as he claimed: ‘Look, he’s happy and settled at Everton, he’s got a contract, so it’s only respectful that that’s the way the conversation stands.

‘He’s not getting his minutes at the moment under Mr Dyche and what’s best for his career is to play football. So yeah, there’s been interest and conversations ongoing with Lyon, it’s been reported in the media, that’s why I’ll confirm it.’

How has Arnaut Danjuma performed for Everton this season?

Well, with opportunities limited, it has been hard for the Dutchman to truly showcase the immense talents that have been on show for many years with AFC Bournemouth and his current parent club.

After all, it was just mere years ago that he remained a key cog for Unai Emery’s Champions League semi-finalists, scoring 16 and assisting four across all competitions that season.

Now, however, he has been reduced to just three starts in the Premier League this season, although has impressed during his cameos in recent weeks.

Against Tottenham Hotspur, the 26-year-old emerged from the bench to pose a constant threat, nearly finding the net on a number of occasions with his directness and dynamism.

Then, earning a start in the FA Cup against Crystal Palace, and he again was a shining light in an otherwise dull display, again due to those aforementioned attributes.

He is different from the likes of Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil out wide, and should have played more already to at least keep him and his agent satisfied.

This flurry of opportunities could have come too late now, and his exit might prove pivotal as it would leave them extremely light in a key role without the funds to plug the gap.
