Asmir Begovic has only been at Everton since the summer transfer window, and it looks as if he’s already fed up of VAR and Premier League officials.

Sean Dyche has had his fair share of run-ins with Premier League officials since taking charge at Everton.

The Everton boss labelled Craig Pawson as ‘ridiculous’ for his decision not to send Ibrahima Konate off last season.

There’s even been a VAR incident already this season that wrongly went against Everton, as a penalty for the Toffees was overturned by Stockley Park.

Most recently, James Tarkowski’s challenge on Jean-Philippe Mateta caused a divided in the media.

Now, Asmir Begovic has made a suggestion to VAR officials on what they need to improve on.

Asmir Begovic tells VAR officials they need to address the issues

Asmir Begovic joined Everton in the summer on a one-year contract.

Last season, Begovic played for QPR in the Championship, where he made 46 appearances, which led to Sean Dyche bringing him in as a back-up for Jordan Pickford.

The Bosnian is yet to receive any minutes for the Toffees, with more appearances on YouTube channels coming his way.

When speaking on Sky Sports show How Long Ref, Asmir Begovic made a number of suggestions to VAR.

“I think there has to be a way of keeping VAR but also eliminating VAR. It’s a bit of a half and half answer, but I understand technology goal line technology is great.

“I think there has to be VAR where it’s just so black and white, so it’s easier for referees because right now they have so many things going on there, too much on their plate.

“They worry about the color of socks, the color of under socks, the color of tape, and then they worry about goals, decisions, which is offside.

“I think for me that’s something that we have we have to address.”

VAR continues to divide opinion

VAR was originally introduced to make the game better, but it’s gone in the opposite direction.

It’s the job of officials to make the decision on-field and VAR is there to provide support in the case of an obvious error.

We’ve had instances where referees won’t make decisions because they’re too afraid to be wrong.

With the referee union, sometimes you’ll get referees not giving certain decisions in certain games because they don’t want to throw their mate under the bus, which is what Mike Dean admitted.

For Everton, the Brighton decision by VAR earlier on in the season really wasn’t good.
