Aston Villa have enquired about an in-demand Everton player who could be sold before the end of the month.
Transfer rumour has been rife at Goodison Park over the past week after Jarrad Branthwaite reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United.
However, it’s believed United will face “problems” in their attempt to entice Everton into a sale, with the Toffees looking for a fee of over £70million.
Regarding incomings, Everton have been linked with a move from former Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo and Roma striker Tammy Abraham.
Another player who has been the centre of much transfer talk is Amadou Onana, and Villa are believed to be interested.
Aston Villa enquire about Everton’s Amadou Onana

Villa’s interest in the Belgian midfielder has come from The Times, who claim the Blues are open to selling their 2022 addition before the end of the month.
They wrote: “Everton’s stance on Branthwaite is, in part, because they have been hoping to sell Amadou Onana before the end of the month and satisfy their profit and sustainability issues that way.”
It’s understood Everton are looking to make a profit on the £34million they paid for the 22-year-old two summers ago.
Villa, along with French giants PSG, have made enquiries for Belgium international. Arsenal are also understood to have a long-standing interest.
Amadou Onana feels the most likely to depart this summer
With Everton already been looking for replacements, it feels like Onana’s days on Merseyside are limited.
The potential need to sell before the end of June could force the club’s hand, irrespective of their desire to keep the combative midfielder.
Other candidates to go include Branthwaite and Jordan Pickford. But the duo are far too crucial to Sean Dyche’s plans ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Onana was in and out of the side last year and struggled to recreate his impressive debut season form.
If a sizable offer arrives, all signs could point toward the former Lille midfielder moving on.
