Everton fans have shared their delight at one big decision David Moyes has recently made behind the scenes.

After dragging the Toffees out of the relegation fight, the 62-year-old is now looking forward to his first full season after his emotional return to Everton in 2025.

David Moyes will now take Everton into a new stadium and a new era at the football club. The move is a fitting one, given what he has delivered for them in the past.

This summer, Everton will improve their squad to make it ready for the new era, but some players will be moved on to make way for those arrivals. Everton are releasing Abdoulaye Doucoure, Asmir Begovic, Ashley Young and Joao Virginia this summer, while the futures of players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Idrissa Gueye are still up in the air.

Their futures are set to be decided in the coming weeks, but it is not just the players who face uncertain futures.

It has been confirmed that Moyes is set to make a big change to his backroom staff, with Charlie Adam set to leave his role as set-piece coach. After hearing the news, Everton fans took to social media to share their thoughts.

Everton fans delighted at Charlie Adam exit news

He only joined the club in January, but it looks like Adam’s time at Everton is over. The former Liverpool ace took on the role of set-piece coach under Moyes but has failed to make an impact in his first few months at the club.

The Toffees will now look to sign a new set-piece coach, but fans are happy to see Adam departing.

“Adam didn’t seem to have any ideas other than, “Wait for McNeil to come back” to improve our set pieces.” said one fan, while another added: “Did we beat the first man? Or score a corner?”

This Everton fan looked to Moyes’ decision to bring Adam to Everton, saying: “Moyes tried something and it didn’t really work and we move on. No biggie like some are making out.”

“Not at all surprised. Either Baines takes over the job, or we find someone who can actually have a positive impact on set pieces.” said this unmoved Everton supporter.

Another fan added: “This might be the best news of the summer.”

Finally, this Everton fan said: “I think a combination of Moyes and Baines is good enough for set piece coaching surely?”

Charlie Adam has always struggled at Everton

With the Scotsman set to leave Everton at the end of the season, it is fair to say that very few fans will miss him.

When Adam was brought to Everton by Moyes, he was supposed to fix their major issues with set-plays, but he has only made them worse.

Under Sean Dyche, set-pieces looked to be one of Everton’s strongest areas. However, Moyes was not able to replicate that success when he arrived.

Despite being his appointment, Moyes was furious with Adam’s set-piece work, which could have only given him more reason not to extend his contract.

Many thought player arrivals would be Moyes’ main focus this summer, but Adam’s failure means he must turn his attention to his backroom team sooner rather than later.
