Beto was the star of the show as Everton recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over Chelsea.
David Moyes finally saw his side record successive wins at the Hill Dickinson Stadium having defeated Burnley 2-0 last time out on Merseyside, and the Everton No.9 played a key role with two goals and an assist for Iliman Ndiaye as well.
In netting twice against Chelsea, Beto actually cemented himself in the history books by becoming the first player to score two goals in a game for Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton fans, who was your standout performer in the 3-0 win over Chelsea?
So many unbelievable Toffees performers at HDS!
Beto sets new Everton record
Ndiaye was the first goalscorer at the new ground back in August with the opener in the 2-0 win against Brighton, but in all the months since that victory, nobody has netted twice in a match for Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium until now.
Three other players had scored twice at the Hill Dickinson Stadium before Beto demolished Chelsea, but they were all opposition players in Micky van de Ven, Igor Thiago and Malick Thiaw.
The Guinea-Bissau international would have surely loved to become the first to net a hat-trick at the new ground, but Moyes opted to bring him off in place of Thierno Barry in the 82nd minute.
Nonetheless, after a tough evening for Beto against Arsenal last time out, he will be delighted to be back on the scoresheet for the first time since netting in the 3-2 win at Newcastle on February 28th.
The 28-year-old’s incredible display also poses a question for The Friedkin Group.
There are rumours that Beto is possibly set to be sold this summer having only scored four goals in 30 Premier League appearances before the visit of Chelsea, and also due to the fact he will only have 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season.
