Beto was on the scoresheet in Everton’s 3-2 win against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.

It was only his third Premier League goal of the season, having been forced to operate as a back-up to Thierno Barry for most of the year.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live after the game, Beto admitted it’s been a tough campaign on a personal level.

“It was immense,” the Everton striker explained.

“It was a really tough game. A difficult opponent, but we know our strengths, and we played really well.

What’s your message to Moyes after that win? 🤯

“We are playing really good away from home, and we want to bring these three points to the Hill Dickinson Stadium and start making our stadium a fortress.

“Personally, for me, I am not liking my season because I am not scoring the goals that I am putting in my mind, which I want to score.”

Beto’s impressive Everton stats vs Newcastle

Beto was given his first Premier League start since December, and he certainly grasped the opportunity.

The towering centre-forward was Sofascore’s Man of the Match, and his impressive statistics certainly reflect that.

Beto’s all-round game was levels above what Barry has been showing in recent weeks, so he’ll more than likely retain his spot in Moyes’ starting line-up.

The 28-year-old could be entering the final few months of his Toffees career, as there is a feeling he could be moved on in the summer.

Everton were open to offers for Beto in the January transfer window, and there was interest from Italy and Turkey.

So, if these are his final 10 games in a blue shirt, he’ll certainly be keen to sign off with a flurry of goals, which will of course benefit Everton.
