Everton’s start to the season has been rocky, but after a horror opening four games in the league, things have stabilised.

Now, they sit 16th, narrowly outside of the relegation zone, and facing a far kinder run of fixtures that Sean Dyche will fancy.

However, if he is to pick up some form and turn this campaign around, the Everton manager will need some help from his players, many of whom have not started the term as successfully as they would have hoped.

Fortunately for the 53-year-old, there is one man who continues to perform regardless of how much help his teammates offer.

And now, Beto has actually made a really bold prediction about how this £15m Everton star might maintain his form throughout the season.

Speaking to the Premier League, the 26-year-old did not hesitate when asked who he thought would finish the campaign with the most assists.

Dwight McNeil was his answer.

Brought to Goodison Park from Burnley back in 2022, it’s impressive to see how much this wide man has flourished.

Already, this season promises to be his best by some distance too, with Fabrizio Romano revealing how pleased Everton are with McNeil’s progress.

Whilst it might seem like a bold prediction, to suggest that someone from an Everton side that scored the second-least goals in the Premier League last season would have a top creator, the signs are looking good for McNeil.

After all, shifted into his new number ten position, he has turned into an elite creative and goalscoring force.

Scoring three and assisting a further two, despite having actually forged seven big chances, the 24-year-old has been spearheading everything good that has come from the Toffees’ attack.
