Everton take on Brighton this weekend in the Premier League – and Fabian Hurzeler has been speaking about the clash in his press conference.

Everton got a big win last weekend against Tottenham Hotspur, and the 3-2 victory has many fans feel optimistic again.

But Moyes knows his next opponents Brighton are not to be underestimated.

Once again they have impressed this season. Currently, the Seagulls are ninth, but are just six points off fourth spot.

They’ll see Everton as an opportunity for three points. But their manager Hurzeler has been very complimentary about the Toffees today.

And the quality of one man in particular is not lost in the German.

Today Hurzeler was asked about the difference in Everton since Moyes took over.

A reporter pointed out that Dominic Calvert-Lewin seems to have a bit more confidence now, to which Hurzeler replied: “Calvert-Lewin… I faced him already in the first game. He’s always a danger, he’s fast, athletic body.

“He’s supported by Lindstrom and Ndiaye who’s also very fast. So they have quite a good offensive line. They know what to do to score, and know what to do to defend quite good.”

Against Spurs, Calvert-Lewin grabbed his first goal in the Premier League since August.

He’s had a pretty torrid time playing under Dyche, but he was much improved last Sunday and took his goal superbly well.

A couple of weeks ago, David Moyes said Calvert-Lewin can be Everton’s difference-maker, and fans certainly hope the Scot’s arrival will prove to be DCL’s catalyst.

Calvert-Lewin set to stay at Everton in January despite contract winding down

After the game with Spurs, Calvert-Lewin strongly hinted he’ll stay at Everton this month.

He stated that he was looking forward to working with Moyes, and praised the work he’s done in such a short period of time.

Calvert-Lewin does have interest from Newcastle and others.

The 27-year-old stands to leave the club as a free agent in the summer when his contract expires. But seemingly, he’s ready to stick around and help Everton’s survival bid

With Armando Broja injured again and Beto heavily linked with an exit from the club, it would now be a great shock if Calvert-Lewin did leave in this window.
