Everton have now completed their coaching staff with two new additions on Thursday.

It will be welcome news to David Moyes to see The Friedkin Group give him what he wants away from the pitch.

After almost two weeks in the job, Moyes is yet to see any January transfers come through the doors on Merseyside.

Everton remain keen on signing two new players this month but are finding it difficult to complete any deals.

But when it comes to providing Moyes what he wants with his coaching staff, it has not been as much of an issue.

And Everton have just announced two further additions on Thursday afternoon.

David Moyes reacts to Charlie Adam and Alan Irvine joining Everton

Billy Mckinlay was Moyes’ first hire at Everton as the former West Ham coach joined the 60-year-old on Merseyside.

And then there has been the promotion for Leighton Baines to the first-team.

On Thursday, the Toffees announced Charlie Adam and Alan Irvine had joined the club as the first-team set piece coach and assistant manager, respectively.

Moyes provided his instant reaction with the new Everton boss thrilled with the news.

“I’m delighted to have been able to add Alan and Charlie to our coaching staff,” he said.

“Obviously, Alan is somebody who I have known for a very long time and have tremendous respect for. His knowledge of the game, as well as his understanding of what is required at Everton – a club that means a lot to both of us – will be invaluable.

Moyes is working behind-the-scenes on transfers with Kevin Thelwell after joining the club halfway through the window.

But he is certainly being handed the help away from the pitch when it comes to his staff.

Moyes has spoken to Charlie Adam about joining Everton a lot

Moyes has been eyeing Adam as his set piece coach for a while now after the pair have spoken about working together.

Adam tried his hand in management with Fleetwood Town before parting ways with the League Two side last month.

Speaking to the club’s media, Moyes has admitted he feels the former Liverpool midfielder will provide Everton a lot as the set-piece coach.

“Charlie is someone I have had several chats with since rejoining the Club,” he said.

“He will be helping with set-piece situations, an area he excelled in as a player and one I believe he can really help us with now as a coach.”
