Everton are just a matter of days away from their new owners being able to bring in some new recruits during the January transfer window.

There have been some encouraging signs for Sean Dyche over recent weeks with the Toffees showing some improved form.

The Friedkin Group are expected to spend in January but they will have to keep an eye on the club’s PSR limit following some frustrating years under Farhad Moshiri.

Everton’s backline has remained solid with only one goal conceded in their last four outings in the Premier League.

However, the same cannot be said at the other end of the pitch with Everton only scoring once in their last three.

But Dyche has failed to make any major adjustments up front despite Everton’s struggles this season.

Beto has told Everton he wants to leave in January

Having failed to really make an impression under Dyche this season, Beto has received interest from Serie A clubs ahead of January.

The striker’s opportunities have been limited despite Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s shortcomings in front of goal.

And according to Friday’s [27/12] edition of TuttoSport, Beto has now made the decision of wanting to return to Serie A next month.

Torino are keen to sign Beto on loan in January in a deal which could be worth in the region of £3m for the remainder of the campaign.

And the Turin-based side are ready to put forward a lucrative loan offer for the striker who is keen to move on from Merseyside.

However, the Toffees are keen for the loan deal to include an obligation to buy the Portuguese striker at the end of the campaign.

But they are not the only side from Italy on the scene with Juventus also showing an interest in Beto as the player eyes a return to Serie A.

Beto has been a huge failure since signing last year

Having signed for around £25m last summer, Beto has gone on to score just a mere seven goals in his 49 appearances.

The 26-year-old enjoyed one big moment this season when he came off the bench to score a late equaliser against Fulham.

Following the game, Theo Walcott sung the striker’s praise on Match of the Day where he hailed the moment as ‘brilliant’.

“He was putting himself in the right areas and causing Fulham’s backline a different problem,” he said.

“He picked up some good positions and there was some relief for him when he did get his goal. It was brilliant to see.”

Ultimately, the striker has just not been able to show a level of consistency to displace Calvert-Lewin despite his struggles.
