Everton fans got their first glimpse of Adam Aznou against Man United as the 19-year-old looks to make a statement.

David Moyes handed the young Moroccan defender his first minutes as a Toffees player, as Aznou replaced James Tarkowski in the 61st minute.

After Aznou signed for £7.8m, plenty of promise comes with the former Bayern Munich star, who has also played for Barcelona.

The Scotsman got his first look at the left-back who was no doubt looking to make the right first impression for Everton.

Aznou said Moyes gave him confidence when he signed, as the defender had his chance to show exactly what he’s about against United on Sunday.

Everton fans very impressed by Adam Aznou’s Everton debut vs Man United

It was a big moment for the Morocco international, who will be looking to ruffle some feathers in the squad.

The Friedkin Group and the manager both seemed aligned on this deal being a success, as Moyes praised Aznou’s potential, and his attributes make him one to watch.

Aznou excels with his dribbling, and along with this, Everton fans have spotted plenty of positives from his debut.

Speaking on X, Evertonians have already been impressed by the 19-year-old, despite just 30 minutes on the pitch, as one wrote: “Aznou has great potential. Could turn out to be a bargain,” with another adding, “Aznou a positive.”

It’s difficult to judge someone after just a brief cameo, but it’s clear the new Toffees signing made the right impact as one fan praised another attribute of the youngster: “Can instantly tell Aznou is a talent. Physical traits mean half the battle is already won,” with another suggesting, “Liked what little I saw of aznou.”

His potential is there for all to see, but it seems like the left-back will provide a different approach: “Thought Aznou was good. It was fun to see our left fullback attempt a dribble. Can clearly see he still needs some work defensively. The profile we have heard about seemed to be 100% true.”

The praise for his ability going forward continued, “Also not much to go off and early days admittedly but Aznou certainly looks like the most attacking full back we’ve had in a while.”

It doesn’t really get much better than this for Aznou as fans are clearly on board with the new signing, and it spells trouble for one individual.

Vitaliy Mykolenko could be in trouble after Adam Aznou’s Everton cameo

After his debut, Moyes has definitely got a more attacking option in Aznou, who proved that his dribbling is a key asset.

It certainly looks like a top trait in his department, and his physicality for a five-foot-ten build was also impressive.

But after just 30 minutes, this will have sent a warning sign to Vitaliy Mykolenko, who will surely be worried after Aznou’s exciting cameo, as he looks to build on his previous success in attacking areas.

Mykolenko is a more reserved player who shines defensively, but the beauty in this is that Everton now have two different alternatives in the left-back position.

But if more creativity is wanted, like the Toffees boss has said, then the Ukrainian could be in trouble.

Moyes sees Aznou as a long-term option, but if his debut is anything to go by, he could soon see his status in the squad increase.
