Everton are a club perennially drenched in frustration, fury, hardship and unrest, yet their fanbase cannot get enough.
They are some of the most loyal and unrelenting supporters in the country, having stuck with their team through the darkest of times.
Now, with an ownership situation that is threatening to sort itself out, and Kevin Thelwell building a far stronger squad, things are at least looking up.
Sean Dyche has had to steer this rudderless ship through some of these tougher periods, and thus far has done so remarkably well.
However, there is now a fresh frustration that is not helping his cause once again.
Chris Sutton feels really bad for Sean Dyche
Chatting on BBC Radio 5 Live, Chris Sutton was brutal in his assessment of Everton’s fortunes.
In fact, he feared that Dyche in particular had been dealt a really tough hand, and his task only gets tougher it seems the longer he stays at Goodison Park.

The latest frustration that he has to contend with is Dominic Calvert-Lewin‘s contract situation, which Sutton has now commented on.
He claimed: ‘It’s a nightmare situation, that, for Sean Dyche. In many respects, it does feel like Calvert-Lewin and Everton has run its course, but I wouldn’t be in a hurry to get him out of the door if I was Sean Dyche because we know that he is an extremely capable player.’
Will Dominic Calvert-Lewin sign a new Everton contract?
Whilst his future remains very much up in the air, should he stay beyond this summer, there’s always a chance that Everton could convince their 27-year-old marksman to stick around.
That is, despite Arsenal joining the race to sign Calvert-Lewin, battling with Chelsea and Newcastle United.
Realistically, the £100k-a-week finisher is a well-liked figure on Merseyside, and has been handed some immense showings of faith through some really tough periods.
The hope is that he can reward them with a bit of loyalty from his end now.
And, should their fortunes change and the Toffees start to move towards a period of positivity and prosperity, with a new owner in charge too, there’s no reason why he couldn’t be convinced to stay.

What Everton need now more than ever is some stability, and that starts at the very top. It seems that, once that is sorted, perhaps the dominoes will fall into place, resulting in a Calvert-Lewin contract extension amongst many other positive outcomes.
