The Friedkin Group are in advanced talks to takeover Everton.

Dan Friedkin is in the final stages of purchasing Everton from Farhad Moshiri despite John Textor entering a period of exclusivity.

Textor had hoped to complete the deal before the end of November but selling his stake in Crystal Palace was proving difficult.

Now, Friedkin has moved into pole position and is already lining up a manager to potentially replace Sean Dyche, who is under pressure having taken just one point from the opening 15 available.

Dan Friedkin has identified Gareth Southgate as potential Sean Dyche successor

According to GiveMeSport, Everton’s potential new owner has identified former England manager Gareth Southgate as a candidate to replace Sean Dyche.

It’s thought Friedkin is yet to make his final decision on whether he will dismiss Dyche as he continues to finalise the takeover.

Southgate cemented himself as one of the most successful England managers in history during his near eight-year spell.

The Three Lions reached consecutive European Championship finals and a last-four World Cup finish under his stewardship.

The 54-year-old, who’s been labelled ‘world class’ per The Spectator, was heavily linked with the Manchester United job earlier this year before Erik ten Hag extended his contract.

Sean Dyche may have just Crystal Palace to save his job

Evidently, Friedkin isn’t sold on Dyche so it makes this weekend’s clash against Crystal Palace a must-win for the former Burnley boss.

Palace also remain winless so far this season, so Everton have to make their home advantage count and finally get in the win column.

A telling week lies ahead on Merseyside.
