Everton really need to address a problem area in January by signing £10m EFL ‘sensation’

Everton were held to a 1-1 draw against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.

The Toffees went ahead through Iliman Ndiaye before Stephy Mavididi equalised for the hosts in the 73rd minute.

Former Everton defender Ashley Williams was blown away by Ndiaye’s display as he was a constant threat down the left channel.

James Garner was also a standout performer despite having to play out of position at right-back, with Seamus Coleman out injured.

Though, even with that said, it’s apparent that Everton need to bring in a full-back during the January transfer window.

Everton should try to sign Sunderland right-back Trai Hume

To address the problem area at right-back, Everton should try to sign Sunderland right-back Trai Hume in Janaury.

The Northern Ireland international has been one of the standout defenders in the Championship over the last few seasons and is thought to be valued at around £10m.

Aged just 22, Hume has plenty of room to develop, so he’d be a smart pick-up by The Toffees, should they try to land his signature this winter.

Hume, who has been labelled a ‘sensation’ per Lincolnshire Live, has previously admitted he aims to play in the Premier League.

Trai Hume statistics

Hume’s FBref statistics make for very impressive reading.

The 2002-born ranks in the top three per cent for tackles won per 90, which amplifies his outstanding tenacity.

Further, Hume sits in the top six per cent for aerial duels won and top eight per cent for blocks, evincing his defensive understanding.

The Sunderland full-back would really suit a Dyche team.
